Anyway I can get the standalone app to work? I presume the iLok license means you have to have a USB iLok device? Don't have those or know how much they cost.

The real pain is having to switch the Pod XTL on as this is apparently the "dongle". But with a POD XTL and no iLok device I can't get the PodFarm standalone app to work - Pod Farm is better but there is not a great difference between this and GearBox which I still use.

I can still do this as I had the GearBox plug-in originally and got the Pod Farm plug in as a free upgrade. When you played it back you used your Plug-in version - the app was not subject to latency unlike the plug in which is also CPU hungry to record with. The way GearBox worked was great - using the standalone app you could monitor the sound while recording the raw signal (and used the XTL for the CPU work). Ooops - actually its the other way round - GearBox has been phased out. I think they've stopped development on POD Farm and have since moved on to GearBox (which I like better). They are definitely trying to up sell you to one of their boxes and/or add on packages for the plug. The thing is now, you don't need the Line6 device dongle anymore, you can use any iLok. On the mix side, the plugin can be used like any of the others for effects and re-amping. You have to have an iLok, or a supported Line 6 device (POD X3, TonePort.

As a plugin though, you are subject to whatever buffer latency any other similar plug would suffer while recording (Guitar Rig, SansAmp, etc). With a Line6 device, POD farm can be used as a standalone app with little or no latency when using the outputs on the Line6 device itself. I just couldn't see anything useful about it- but perhaps I'm missing the point. As I recall the POD simply serves as a dongle, right? I got too much latency to play with this plug-in. James Steele wrote:I remember downloading this once and actually returning it and getting my money back. I only use the wheels and the keyboard so the rest of the knobs and buttons are redundant. I’m guessing it’s more to do with dust than anything else.

One thing I noticed is that I need to roll the tone and mod wheels up and down a number of times before they work smoothly in Reason. I'm sure you've already figured it out, but you can store the authorization for the Pod Farm on the KB37 instead of an iLok too.Įxactly the same scenario here. com/w Mr Fog Disposable Vape In Stock - Compatible Low Price Online, MrFog is one of the renowned flavors pod stores online. all the other controllers I've seen in this size.

That little layout feature allows for almost a full extra octave of keys vs. I really like the pitch/mod wheels above the keyboard. Yes, it's a really crappy keyboard/controller (springy keys, no after touch, no encoders, and the knobs feel really cheap), but it's the only 37-key controller I've found that can fit on the wing on the side of my desk. I've since stopped using the KB37 as an audio interface, but it's still my primary keyboard. I needed and audio interface and so, due to Line 6 integration in Record, I bought a KB37 combined interface and keyboard. Anybody use or used Pod Farm with Reason and what do you Think of the results? Thanks for Reading and thanks in advance for any input on this. So.I just thought I'd ask here before I take the chance. I'm not sure if I can even be bothered trying but, as I said, ther's a Univibe and maybe a couple of other good effects in there. I've got some memory that if I go in on on preferences I can switch some monitor option to external then record audio direct from Pod Farm. I know I can't Craft tones and the load them up in Reason's Line 6 amps as.well basically there are none now ha ha (and a good thing if you ask me). I can't really remember how it integrates with Record/ Reason.

Yesterday I remembered that I've actually got Pod Farm 2 Platinum and that it has a Rotor Speaker and a Univibe amongst other effects. The keyboard does me fine but both the sound of the Line 6 tones and the quality of Line 6 customer service didn't meet my expectations. A long, long time ago when Propellerheads released Record I jumped on the Reason train.
